Geoff Hiscock has been reporting and writing on Asian business for more than 30 years from bases in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Bangkok and Sydney. He is the author of the key book documenting Asia's richest tycoons, the hugely successful Asia’s Wealth Club (1997) and its follow-up, Asia’s New Wealth Club (2000). This is an immensly readable business book. Having recently spent a little time in India I found that Hiscock's book helped put the corporate names I had seen or heard into prespective. The history of the families and their companies was of great interest.

About the Author
A 25 year veteran of the coaching profession, with twenty-two of those years spent as a varsity head coach, Coach Kevin Sivils amassed 464 wins and his TEAMs earned berths in the state play-offs 19 out of 22 seasons with his TEAMs advancing to the state semi-finals three times. An eight time Coach of the Year Award winner, Coach Sivils has traveled as far as the Central African Republic to conduct coaching clinics. Coach Sivils first coaching stint was as an assistant coach for his college alma mater, Greenville College, located in Greenville, Illinois. Coach Sivils holds a BA with a major in physical education and a minor in social studies from Greenville College and a MS in Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport Psychology from Louisiana State University. He also holds a Sport Management certification from the United States Sports Academy. In addition to being a basketball coach, Coach Sivils is a classroom instructor and has taught U.S. Government, U.S. History, the History of WW II, and Physical Education and has won awards for excellence in teaching and Teacher of the Year. He has served as an Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Director and has also been involved in numerous professional athletic organizations. Sivils is married to the former Lisa Green of Jackson, Michigan, and the happy couple are the proud parents of three children, Danny, Katie, and Emily. Rounding out the Sivils family are three dogs, Angel, Berkeley, and Al. A native of Louisiana, Coach Sivils currently resides in the Great State of Texas.

Decent little book.

For the money, it was an OK book. I bought it hoping there would be several drills that I could use with my team of 11 and 12 year olds. There were two drills in the book, one of which I could use with my group. The concepts and statisitics in the book are interesting reading. All in all I enjoyed the book.

It's not bad, but not great either

The text, as others said, has great examples. It is clear and concise. And considering the subject matter, it's not quite as dry as you might expect (not a page-turner by any means, but it's readable). There area a few areas where it fails, however. 1) There could be more examples, and more variation. 2) There are too many typos, some of which are important. 3) There are no answers to the homework/practice problems.

As a student, the last one was incredibly annoying. The book contains no answers section, so it makes it hard to find material to practice before exams and quizzes. It would only take a few (10ish?) extra pages to include answers. For a book that is primarily going to be used as a class textbook, that's unacceptable.

Good in what it does, but it needs more.

good examples, complicated explanations, too many typos

As a student who never has taken econometrics class, I suffered the weakness of this book (which was used as the textbook) more than I benefited from the strengths.
The strength of this book lies in the good examples they use. The book is not dense and mostly the explanation is very
concise. The examples they have is very interesting and might attract students' attention quite well.
However, I found this book's explanation is not very biginner
friendly. The explanation is often unnecessary compliated with too much math, so it might not be good for introductory econometrics class (it could make a good supplemental reading).
Gujarati's, Kennedy, etc has similar coverage but the explanation is much more plain and reader friendly.
The crucial problem which makes this book less than desirable is, amount of typos - I'd say one typo in a few pages on average. Although they have listed erratas on the publisher's web-site, unfortunately they cover relatively low fraction of all the typos this book has (could be inevitable problem with the first edition book). End-of-chapter questions and slides suffer the similar problem, so when my professor did not catch the problem in the end-of-chapter question, I just wasted too much time trying to figure out the answers, which was the worst part of using this book.

Kinda Sorta Maybe

This is a pretty good book - I agree with the previous reviewer who said the author makes too many assertations that have no apparent root in fact - this is true. The writing itself can get confusing and doubles back on itself, but that is to be expected. I think it centers a little too much on psychology rather than the myth itself. Still, I did enjoy reading it (and LOVED the illustrations) and I am interested in reading more about Lilith.

Makes you understand women more

When I obtained this book from amazon.com, I didn't know it would help me to understand and appreciate and respect the many "moods and attitudes" of women a little bit more.

The prerequisite to reading this book is an open mind. It contains various historical, mythological, and psychological analyses of Lilith, that can be overwhelming. But there is an advantage to this; it motivates and pushes the mind to think and encourages more and more exploration of the subject-concecpts.

Recommended for the open minded and all males.
